Back to school season is an exciting time for school staff, students, and their families, but for 22 SLPs, SLPAs, and school psychologists this fall, it means a brand new job with The Hello Foundation! We held 2 new staff orientations – one socially distanced in-person at our new clinic space, and another via zoom streaming video.
Both sessions covered fundamentals like the Hello core values and what FERPA means for teletherapy, along with important details like how to record your hours and access PTO. We welcomed a record number of school psychologists, THFers based in Colorado, and our first SLPAs! The best part was connecting with professionals who are ready to put kids first in the new school year!
Once our new staff was onboarded, oriented, and thoroughly welcomed, it was time to celebrate with the team! The breezeway outside our new clinic location was the setting for a much-needed Hello social event celebrating back-to-school in style. Mild weather and clear (thankfully un-smokey) Pacific Northwest air made it possible to enjoy the taco truck, outdoor games, fairy hair, and face painting.
