Communication development is one of the most complex and lengthy processes that humans undergo as they mature from infancy to adulthood. In fact, our communication skills continue to evolve throughout our entire lifetimes! The communication foundation that is built in early childhood also serves to support our later academic endeavors and plays a significant role in both reading and writing. Early identification and intervention are crucial, but it can be really hard to know what’s typical and what’s concerning. We created our Communication Red Flags resources to help folks sort out that question for preschoolers, early and late elementary ages, young adults, and bilingual kids. They’re all available elsewhere on our blog, but we thought we’d do this little round-up so that they’re all collected in one convenient spot. Download and share them all!
