It’s time to hear about Sarah’s favorite book! She chose the perennial classic, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. Did you know that this book was published almost 30 years ago?! It has withstood the test of time for good reason. It is a delightful, fun book that engages the reader and the listener in an exciting adventure that takes place completely in their own imaginations.
As Sarah shares, speech pathologists love this book because it targets all sorts of language skills. It can be used to work on following verbal instructions, verbs, descriptors, working memory, and of course all of those fantastic examples of onomatopoeia! We highly recommend that you splish splosh and squelch squirch your way into this book as soon as you can!
