We’re thrilled to announce the recipient of the Outstanding Young Leader Hello Foundation 2021 Scholarship, Emily Murray.
FosterClub shares, “Emily is from Colorado, but currently attends law school in Philadelphia. She has two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish. Her dream is to become a foster parent and attorney for foster and/or immigrant youth.
Emily has been a Core Organizer for Project Foster Power for three years, helping to create positive change in the Colorado foster care system through youth organizing, advocacy, and community outreach. Emily also interns for Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), a nonprofit that provides representation for child immigrants and refugees who would otherwise have to represent themselves in court.
A quote Emily lives by is ‘be the change you wish to see in the world.'”
FosterClub is a non-profit whose mission is “to lead the efforts of young people in and from foster care to become connected, educated, inspired and represented so they can realize their personal potential and contribute to a better life for their peers.” They align with our core value of Put Kids First and we are proud to collaborate with and support their incredibly important work. We’re so impressed by Emily and it’s our honor to support her on her journey. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
